K. Singh Taneja is chief operating officer of Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, a publicly funded psychiatric hospital in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, he served as chief operating officer of Prince George’s Hospital Center and held other senior leadership positions at Dimensions Healthcare System. Mr. Taneja has spent majority of his career, which spans more than 40 years, in healthcare financial and strategic management, in senior leadership roles such as Hospital President & CEO, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice President Mergers & Acquisitions for healthcare organizations such as Doctors Community Healthcare Corp., Howard University Hospital, D.C. General Hospital, Greater Southeast Community Hospital, and Hadley Memorial Hospital. He has a proven track record of turnaround at financially challenged and complex facilities.
He earned his MBA in accounting from the University of the District of Columbia and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Delhi University in New Delhi, India. He is a member of several professional organizations which includes Health Care Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE).
Last year Maryland Governor Larry Hogan appointed Mr. Taneja to serve as a board member of Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE). He has served on the board of non-profit organizations such as Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA) of Prince George’s County and Guru Nanak Foundation of America (GNFA). Mr. Taneja has served on various healthcare committees such as Maryland Health Benefit Advisory Committee, healthcare transition teams for Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker and Washington DC Mayor Marion Barry.
In 2016, Mr. Tanejs was awarded Outstanding Healthcare Leader from the Maryland India Business Roundtable.
